Hey guys! It’s Kayden here back with another review! Today, I’ll be reviewing Prada L’Homme, a fragrance that Ice bought for me a while back.
It was quite hyped up back in the 2017-2018 period and many people love it for its high-quality iris note which is quite rare in designer scents back then. Prada then capitalised on this opportunity to release Prada L’homme intense, L’homme L’eau and L’homme absolu.
Top notes: Neroli, Black pepper, Cardamom, Carrot Seeds
Middle notes: Iris, Violet, Geranium, Mate
Base notes: Amber, Cedar, Patchouli, Sandalwood
Scent
Prada L’homme is a fairly linear scent. Right from the start, you will get a heavy dose of Iris, mixed with Violet & Neroli to give this elegant and sophisticated vibe. Some say that the Iris note smell like lipstick, which makes it appealing to women. I personally do not feel so but different strokes for different folks I guess~
As the fragrance dries down, the spiciness from the black pepper & cardamom starts to fade away and a hint of sweetness starts to come out to play. However, the sweetness in this fragrance is very subtle rather than loud.
To me, I can’t seem to pick up any scent of sandalwood or cedar.
Longevity & Projection
Longevity is above average, lasting around 7-8 hours. Projection is about average, pushing slightly more than an arm’s length for 2 hours before forming a small scent bubble around you. In my opinion, the projection is very appropriate for this fragrance given the sophisticated nature of this scent.
Seasons & Occasions
Occasions wise, I feel that this scent is best for office work because it gives that sense of elegance and professionalism. It smells like what a clean and professional gentlemen would wear. However, this scent can also be worn to more upscale occasions but might pale in comparison to statement-making fragrances e.g. Creed Aventus, Tobacco Vanille, Santal Royale etc
You can also wear it for casual occasions such as meeting with friends or going shopping but please do not wear it for sports.
Prada L’Homme is suitable for spring & summer, maybe early fall but definitely not winter. It’s scent profile will not be able to cut through the cold and at the same time, everyone will be wearing heavier fragrances by then.
Conclusion
Prada L’homme is the perfect office scent. Period. Having the versatility to wear it on formal and casual occasions is a really good plus point as well. I would recommend this fragrance if you looking for a office scent or if you are looking to buy just one fragrance to fit all situations. For the latter though, Aqua Celestial might be a better choice (:
