Hey guys, it’s Kayden back with another staycation review! Today, I’ll be reviewing this gorgeous 5-star hotel, JW Marriot South Beach. 2 years back, I went to his hotel for my friend’s birthday and I fell in love with it! The minimalist and modern vibes just resonated so well with me.
Location
The location is very accessible as the Esplanade MRT entrance is located right beside the hotel. With that being said, there are not too many people using this entrance so it is very quiet.
In addition, there are multiple eateries located in the vicinity which includes Lady M, Black Cow, and Harry’s. JW Marriot hotel’s restaurant is also located on the first floor, outside of the main hotel building. I think that really adds a touch of serenity to the whole staycation experience where you don’t see crowds of guests dining after exiting the lift.
Upon entering the hotel, you have to walk past this walkway decorated with beautiful art pieces before reaching the lifts and service counters. The dim orange lighting here really adds a touch of sophistication to the hotel as well.
Room
The interior design of the room is very much minimalist. White walls and furniture fill the entirety of the room along with an abundance of mirrors to really give the illusion of a bigger room than it really is. While both Ice and I love the overall vibe of the hotel room, we felt that the use of mirrors was a little overboard.
Next, the toilet, the bathtub, and shower room are separated into 3 different areas. Such a layout is clearly indicative of its status as a 5-star hotel. Also, we were very satisfied with the refrigerator having ample space and not filled with expensive drinks that most guests would not touch >.< Lastly, Ice was also very impressed by the quality of the slippers and bathrobes provided.
Pool
The pool is located on the 16th floor and honestly, it was rather small. However, I have to admit that the view is one of the best, falling slightly behind MBS only due to its lower altitude. In addition, there are also a few photo-worthy spots such as, the partially submerged table and chair. However, be warned that the water is very cold at night, so it is better to visit during the evenings instead.
Conclusion
We feel that this hotel definitely exudes the classiness of a 5-star hotel and definitely one of the best ones we have visited. It is convenient and accessible in terms of being close to the MRT and Suntec City, yet, it is serene and peaceful. A must-visit for minimalist fans.
