[Closed] Keisuke Lobster King

Hey guys! Kayden here back with another review! In today’s review, I will be sharing with you guys one of the best ramen in Singapore! That’s right, it is none other than Keisuke Lobster King!

Ambience

First of all, Lobster King is a rather spacious restaurant located in Clarke Quay. Upon entering the restaurant, you would notice many design cues reminiscent of ancient Japan.

There is a large bonsho (Buddhist bell) placed in the middle of the room as well as a katana at each of its sides. The window panes reminded me of the shoji (translucent windows used in ancient Japanese architecture).

All of this came as a surprise to me as it was much better than Tonkotsu King in Paya Lebar.

The order procedure is fairly simple: Just check the boxes on the provided paper which includes the following options:

  1. The ramen of choice
  2. Extra toppings
  3. Gyoza orders
  4. Noodles texture
  5. How oily & rich do you want the soup
  6. Drinks

Food

As with any Keisuke ramen chain, hard-boiled eggs, and marinated beansprouts are provided FOC which is a huge huge plus especially when waiting for your ramen to arrive.

First of all, there are 2 major types of ramen here, the rich & creamy soup and the clear soup. Ice and I each ordered one kind to see what exactly is the difference.

Bottom line is BOTH ARE EXTREMELY GOOD!

The umami in the richer broth is so flavorful and robust that you can straight up tell that lobsters/crustaceans are indeed used to boil the soup to such perfection. The caveat is that it will get “jelak” after a while so make sure to enjoy the soup sparingly. If you had read my Keisuke Kani King review, this version is a much better version than Kani King. I highly recommend this.

Else, opt for the clear soup which didn’t taste so amazing at first, but the flavour slowly builds up. With every mouth, the soup gets more savoury and keeps you wanting more.

The char siew (pork) used in the ramen contains just the right amount of fats and lean meat which gives it the perfect texture. Ironically, Lobster king seems to execute their char siew better than the Tonkotsu King.

In addition, the prawn wanton(dumpling) provided here is soo goood! The dumpling skin is velvety smooth and the thickness hits the sweet spot.

Conclusion

Keisuke Lobster King is the perfect ramen restaurant that offers exceptional ramen at affordable prices. Ice and I love this chain so much that we simply can’t get enough of it.

As it is opened through the night, it is the perfect supper place after some drinks at the nearby pubs. A warm bowl of soup should be able to wake your very soul up.

Do not miss this!
