Ippudo Ramen

Heyyy guys, are you craving for ramen or are you craving for your weekly dose of YSK? 😉 Lets find out in today’s Ippudo Ramen review.

By the way, if you know how to read Chinese, Ippudo Ramen is called 一风堂 Fuuyoh! How swag is that! Okay, back to the main topic, so I visited this place with my secondary school friends to catch up. Below are the 3 different types of ramen we ordered

Food

Karaka-men $19 (pork broth with sweet and spicy miso bean sauce)

Akamaru Shinaji $19 (pork broth with special blended miso paste and garlic oil)

Shiromaru Motoaji $18 (original pork broth)

So, I ordered the pork broth with miso and garlic oil ramen that day, and to be honest, it was a very standard bowl of ramen.

For this price, it is not worth it in my opinion.

Being the first Ippudo outlet in Singapore and having so many good reviews written about it, I embraced myself to be blown away but meh…

The soup was slightly richer than normal ramen stalls and that’s it. My friends did not give any compliments as well, which basically means it isn’t that great.

If you are confused about whether or not to try Ippudo Ramen, let’s just say maybe it was good when it started out? After quite a few years of operation and so many outlets opening, getting slack and complacent is possible. Another possibility may be due to more and more ramen shops opening in Singapore compared to maybe 7-8 years back? What makes you stand out? Ippudo certainly doesn’t in my opinion.

If you are looking for a nice bowl of ramen, I would highly recommend Keisuke Lobster King @ Clarke Quay!

That’s all for this week’s post! Peace (:
